In the mid 1970's I and a friend named Tom Davis got involved in various projects with the Shawano County Arts Council. After a year or so, Ruth Gehr, one of the members of the Arts Council's Board of Directors, invited Tom and I to their A-Frame home north of Shawano in the town of Gresham. She introduced us to her husband Jim and on the day Tom and I began a journey never to be forgotten. Jim and Ruth Gehr had lived with Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin decades earlier. Tom and I became regular visitors to the Gehr house and our lives were forever changed. My writer friend Tom Davis often went home and captured parts of those vists.
